Pat will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Conor (Anna) and Meghan; and his sister, Marguerite Richard (Brian).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Beirne; his father, Timothy P. Flynn; and his brother, Michael Beirne (Lori).

For his family and friends, Pat will be remembered for the love, guidance and support he provided throughout his life. His presence brought strength and stability to those around him, and the memories they created together will remain an important part of his legacy.

Patrick Flynn’s Career and Achievements

A proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Pat maintained a lifelong connection to the university he loved.

During his time at Notre Dame, he worked with the football and track teams and created many lasting memories, including helping prepare football helmets by spray painting them gold.

Notre Dame remained an important part of Pat’s life long after graduation. Visits to campus became cherished family traditions that included trips to the Grotto, watching the band, sharing meals and cheering for the Fighting Irish.

Professionally, Pat established a successful career that began as a commercial lender at Manufacturers Bank. He later became a respected turnaround consultant and chief financial officer, earning admiration for his integrity, leadership and ability to navigate complex business challenges.

A Passion for Golf and Community

Golf was among Pat’s greatest passions and provided him with both enjoyment and lifelong friendships.

He was honored to serve as President of the Detroit Golf Club, a place that became a second home and where he developed meaningful relationships with fellow members.

For Pat, golf represented much more than competition. It was a source of friendship, connection and community — qualities that were important throughout his life.

Patrick T. Flynn died on August 18, 2026, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2001 and faced the disease with remarkable perseverance for more than two decades.

Funeral and Memorial Arrangements

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons – Vasu, Rodgers, and Connell Chapel, 32515 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak, Michigan.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 360 Harmon St., Birmingham, Michigan. Visitation at the church will begin at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Detroit Golf Club Caddie Scholarship Fund in Pat’s memory.

Patrick T. Flynn leaves behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, family devotion and service. He will be remembered by his family, friends, professional colleagues, the Notre Dame community and everyone whose life he touched.
